Microsoft is particularly committed to improving Notepad with extra features, and after rolling out a substantial update in Windows 10 version 1809, the software giant becomes working on quite a few other refinements that's included in the OS update currently codenamed 19H1.
In Windows 10 version 1809 (October 2018 Update), Notepad received support for Unix/Linux line endings (LF) and Macintosh line endings (CR) additionally Windows line endings (CRLF), and even options to investigate text with Bing, focus capabilities, and find/replace refinements with wrap-around into your find dialog.

The encoding is becoming displayed within the lower right corner when you use a Notepad document.
